Hilton has announced the opening of the Waldorf Astoria Shanghai Qiantan, located in the Qiantan District of Pudong, Shanghai. This development marks the second Waldorf Astoria property in the city. It is situated on the southern stretch of Shanghai’s new Bund, opposite the Waldorf Astoria Shanghai on the Bund across the Huangpu River.
The new hotel features 204 rooms and suites, ranging in size from 52 square meters. Some suites include outdoor jacuzzis, offering views of the Shanghai skyline. Designed by Kohn Pedersen Fox and Cheng Chung Design, the hotel incorporates elements inspired by Shanghai’s Art Deco heritage.
The property offers various dining options, including Arame, which serves modern European cuisine, and Fu Cheng, led by Michelin-starred chef Justin Yang, focusing on Min cuisine. The hotel also features the Starlight room, a reservation-only chef’s table with an open kitchen and private terrace.
Amenities at the Waldorf Astoria Shanghai Qiantan include a 25-meter indoor heated pool, a 24-hour fitness center, and four private treatment rooms. The hotel provides access to nearby jogging trails, cycling paths, and parks, along with wellness activities such as sunrise yoga and evening meditation.
