King Street Townhouse to refurbish event spaces and guestrooms

King Street Townhouse will refurbish two event spaces and 10 guestrooms as part of a redesign scheduled to complete in April 2026. The work forms the centrepiece of the Manchester hotel’s plans to mark its 10th anniversary.

The project will update the South Terrace and Lounge, which the hotel says will provide greater flexibility for weddings, conferences and private events. Plans include a new bar and room dividers, alongside access to the adjoining rooftop area with views across the city skyline.

The Mezzanine Lounge will also be updated. The hotel said the revised space will feature navy blue and brass tones with neutral finishes, along with bespoke seating and a bar for private gatherings.

The 10 refurbished rooms will be relaunched as Signature guestrooms. Each is intended to retain its individual layout while drawing on the building’s heritage, with new textures, finishes and artwork.

Chief executive Viki Tahmasebi said: “Reaching our 10-year anniversary is a pivotal moment for King Street Townhouse Hotel. Our philosophy has always been to provide thoughtful, personal hospitality, and this refurbishment reflects that commitment.

“We’re refreshing 10 of our individually designed bedrooms and two of our event spaces, introducing enhancements that honour the poise and elegance that make every stay unique. This considered investment focuses on the details that shape the guest journey, ensuring every moment feels deeply personal. As we step into our next decade, we’re elevating comfort and style in a way that stays true to the heritage and spirit that make King Street Townhouse Hotel so special.”

The redesign is being developed in collaboration with EPR Architects. The hotel said the work aims to preserve the Grade II listed building’s original character while introducing an updated design for the next phase of its operation.

It is a long established fact that a reader will be distracted by the readable content of a page when looking at its layout. The point of using Lorem Ipsum is that it has a more-or-less normal distribution of letters, as opposed to using ‘Content here, content here’, making it look like readable English. Many desktop publishing packages and web page editors now use Lorem Ipsum as their default model text, and a search for ‘lorem ipsum’ will uncover many web sites still in their infancy.
