Preferred to open the The Newman as part of 2026 global expansion

Preferred Hotels and Resorts will open The Newman in central London in February 2026 as part of a wider global pipeline of eight properties scheduled to join the group next year.

The Newman will sit in Fitzrovia, with design studio Lind and Almond overseeing interiors shaped by the district’s Victorian and Art Deco influences. The hotel will offer 81 rooms and suites, including a penthouse with a private terrace that can be configured as a four-bedroom suite. Facilities will include a modern European brasserie, a lower-ground Gambit Bar and private dining spaces.

A full wellness floor is planned, featuring hot and cold cabins, an active salt therapy room, a hydrotherapy pool, a meditation studio and a gym.

Lindsey Ueberroth, chief executive of Preferred Hotels and Resorts, said: “Our 2026 new hotel list reflects the powerful shifts captured in our Luxury Travel Report, where a significant majority of global luxury travellers are prioritising authenticity, thoughtful curation, heritage, and meaningful ‘legacy moments’.

“With expectations rising around personalisation and purpose-driven travel, the remarkable openings in our portfolio, including four new Legend properties, deliver the individuality and depth today’s travellers value most. We are also seeing notable momentum across our I Prefer Hotel Rewards loyalty programme, reinforcing that guests increasingly seek independent hotels that recognise them as individuals rather than room numbers.”

Further openings include:

It is a long established fact that a reader will be distracted by the readable content of a page when looking at its layout. The point of using Lorem Ipsum is that it has a more-or-less normal distribution of letters, as opposed to using ‘Content here, content here’, making it look like readable English. Many desktop publishing packages and web page editors now use Lorem Ipsum as their default model text, and a search for ‘lorem ipsum’ will uncover many web sites still in their infancy.
