Point A Hotel’s Shoreditch property has begun a full refurbishment of its rooms and public areas.
News of the refurbishment comes as part of a wider push on sustainability. The hotel is targeting a BREEAM In-Use ‘Very Good’ rating, which Point A parent company Queensway says reflects its investment in responsible development and operations.
The project covers all 181 guest rooms, which are being shifted from the “Classic” design to the firm’s newer “Cosy” specification. The lobby, lounge and breakfast space are also being renewed, and the site will add a communal ironing room in line with updated brand standards.
The breakfast area will seat 66 guests, with 10 extra places in the lounge near reception to ease the flow through shared spaces. The hotel has kept its graffiti wall by artist Vic Lee, first commissioned in 2017, as part of efforts to retain elements linked to the local creative community.
Sean O’Neill, development manager at Queensway, said: “This refurbishment marks an exciting milestone for the Shoreditch hotel and for our ongoing investment in guest experience.
“We’re evolving our design to bring a warmer, more comfortable feel to every room, while creating inviting shared spaces that reflect the energy and creativity of the local area.”
