Zedwell has announced plans to open a new flagship hotel on Bank Junction in the City of London, as the tech-driven hospitality company continues to roll out its expansion goals across UK’s city centres.
The chain’s new location will find itself in the Grade-II listed building constructed in 1929 as National Westminster Bank, situated at 1 Princes Street next to luxury hotel The Ned and across The Royal Exchange, the Bank of England and Mansion House
The business said the property’s conversion will merge its historical features with the hotel brand’s tech-first operating model, defined by self check-ins, digital key access and 24/7 AI-powered assistance along with advanced soundproofing, purified air systems and ambient lighting.
The renovation will additionally transform the former bank’s ground and first floors into a publicly accessible cultural and community space for public exhibitions, events and educational programming in partnership with local charities, community groups and stakeholders.
This news comes after Zedwell’s recent expansion into Oxford, York and the capital’s Spitalfriends.
Halima Aziz, head of hotels at Zedwell, said: “1 Princes Street is one of the most prestigious buildings in the City of London, and this project reflects our vision to create hospitality destinations that are both respectful of their history and relevant for today’s guests. Importantly, it also introduces high-quality accommodation at an accessible price point for the people who work, live, study and visit the City, addressing a significant gap in the market.
“With a current and committed pipeline of more than 9,000 rooms by 2028, we are excited to continue building a scalable platform across supply-constrained gateway cities, and 1 Princes Street represents a major milestone in that journey.”

The point of using Lorem Ipsum is that it has a more-or-less normal distribution of letters, as opposed to using ‘Content here, content here’, making it look like readable English. Many desktop publishing packages and web page editors now use Lorem Ipsum as their default model text, and a search for ‘lorem ipsum’ will uncover many web sites still in their infancy.
