Moxy Hotels has opened its first Hungarian property, Moxy Budapest Downtown, located on Kazinczy Street in the capital.
The 281-room hotel, developed by real estate company Forestay Group, occupies a former dance institution. Interior features include design elements inspired by ballet and Empress Elisabeth of Austria.
Facilities at the property include a fitness centre, two meeting spaces, and a rooftop bar called Saddle & Sky.
The building achieved a BREEAM Excellent certification, featuring solar panels and 81 electric vehicle charging stations.
The project forms part of a wider urban revitalisation scheme for central Budapest by Forestay Group to develop community spaces.
Sandra Schulze-Potgieter, VP of premium, select and midscale brands for EMEA at Marriott, said: “Moxy Budapest Downtown marks an important milestone for the brand as it enters the Hungarian market.
