Knipoch House Hotel near Oban, in Scotland, has been named ‘Best Boutique Hotel’ at the annual Prestige Hotel Awards.
The public voted for the winners of the awards, which recognise three, four, and five-star properties across Scotland. More than 600 hospitality representatives attended the ninth annual ceremony following a judging process by an expert panel.
Group general manager Andreas Maszczyk manages the historic country house hotel, which overlooks Loch Feochan and joined the Sonas Collection portfolio in 2024. The property contains 26 rooms, a fine dining restaurant, and a brasserie.
The hotel dates back to the 17th Century and retains original fireplaces, stone walls, and wood panelling. It sits a short drive from Oban and features a waterfront terrace, a private hot tub, and spa treatments.
The onsite restaurant – 1635 – serves modern Scottish cuisine using regional produce. The restaurant launched last year to honour the 16th-century origins of the building.
Hotelier Anne Gracie and her family own and operate Sonas Collection. The business began with Toravaig House Hotel in 2003 and expanded to include Duisdale House Hotel and Skeabost House Hotel before the company acquired the Knipoch property.
Maszczyk said: “The team at Knipoch House Hotel are pleased to have been recognised by The Scottish Hotel Awards (Prestige) Hotel Awards as Best Boutique Hotel in Scotland. What makes the accolade even more meaningful is knowing that we were voted for by the general public.
