Marriott UK pledges 20 hotels to Room to Reward volunteer scheme

Marriott UK has joined the Room to Reward charity scheme to provide free hotel breaks for voluntary workers.

The partnership involves 20 properties pledging to donate one short break annually from their unsold room inventory. 

The participating properties include Sheraton Grand Edinburgh, JW Marriott Grosvenor House, Sheraton Grand London Park Lane and Marriott Hotel London Grosvenor Square.

The initiative follows a pilot period where several Marriott UK hotels trialled the scheme. The expanded partnership aims to increase the number of locations available to registered volunteers.

Room to Reward marked its 10th anniversary last year. Since its launch, more than 950 hotels and 1,200 voluntary organisations have joined the programme. 

More than 4,000 volunteers have received hotel stays through the scheme, including nearly 1,000 individuals in 2025.

Joanna Chugh, Europe chief operating officer at Marriott International, said: “We are proud to be joining Room to Reward supporting the incredible volunteers who give so much to their communities. By donating unsold rooms, our hotels can make a meaningful difference, and we are delighted that our properties across the UK can play a part in recognising and rewarding these inspiring individuals.”

Adam Terpening, Room to Reward trustee, added: “We are absolutely delighted to welcome Marriott UK to Room to Reward. To have such a prestigious group joining our journey is just amazing and means the nominated volunteers will have even more incredible properties to choose from.
