Luxury hotel Swinton Park has appointed Jamie Keeble as head chef of its refreshed Chef’s Table, succeeding John Barnes from September 2026 ahead of its reopening.
Keeble brings extensive cookery experience, beginning his culinary career at Sheffield Wednesday F.C. before moving to Michelin-starred Lords of the Manor in the Cotswolds. He later joined the restaurant team at Ynyshir in Wales.
He joins Swinton Park from his most recent position at Michelin-starred Mýse, which he joined in 2023 alongside founders Joshua and Victoria Overington. In his new role, he will lead a menu centred on seasonal and sustainable produce, with ingredients sourced from the estate’s walled garden and local Yorkshire suppliers.
Located in the estate’s historic coach grounds, the chef’s table is a 12-seat dining experience included in the Michelin guide. It exhibits Swinton’s ‘estate-to-plate’ philosophy, inviting 12 guests at a time to engage with sustainable gastronomy.
Speaking on his appointment, Keeble said: “The connection between the estate, the walled garden and the kitchen provides an outstanding platform to create a dining experience that is personal, memorable and rooted in the seasons.
“My cooking celebrates modern British food, inspired by memories, tradition and the exceptional produce we have here in Yorkshire – whether that’s using produce from our kitchen garden, tenant farmers or local Yorkshire suppliers. I’m looking forward to joining the team in September and putting my mark on Chef’s Table – I’m excited to see what we can achieve, along with welcoming our first guests from October.”
Steve Darou, executive head chef of Swinton Estate, said: “Jamie is one of the most talented young chefs working in Britain today. His experience at some of the country’s most respected kitchens, including Michelin-starred Mýse, together with his creativity, technical ability and genuine passion for seasonal British produce, make him the perfect person to lead the next chapter of the Chef’s Table. We are thrilled to welcome him to Swinton and excited to see his vision come to life from October.”
Keeble has been recognised as one of the UK’s rising chefs. Earlier this year, he was named in the National Restaurant Awards Rising Stars Class of 2026, winning the top accolade in the chef category.
