Park Plaza London Riverbank partners with Natural History Museum for dinosaur suite

Park Plaza London Riverbank has partnered with the Natural History Museum to launch a new Dinosaur Family Suite as part of a wider commitment to the hotel’s family offering.

Both the hotel and museum worked with graphic designer and illustrator Jon Powell at creative studio POW to combine creativity and education into a child-friendly hospitality environment. The suite features design centred around prehistoric species, vegetation, fossils and specimens.

The interconnected two-guestroom suite is tailored to adults and children. The adult guestroom, inspired by a historical study, features maps, fossils and collection details, with a bookcase-style door leading into the child guestroom for a Cretaceous-themed stay. The room includes a bespoke Tyrannosaurus rex-inspired bunk bed, floor-to-ceiling murals, moss-effect flooring and educational resources intended to support learning.

Suat Binkaya, senior general manager at Park Plaza London Riverbank, said: “Families are one of our fastest-growing guest segments and we know that when they come to London, their main priority is making lasting memories together.

“The Natural History Museum Dinosaur Family Suite gives them a head start on that from the moment they check in. Working with the Natural History Museum’s experts and creative studio P-O-W, we’ve built a room that’s part of the adventure. It’s the centrepiece of a much wider expansion of our family accommodation, which includes a range of studios and suites that can accommodate families of up to five.”

Maxine Lister, head of licensing at the Natural History Museum, told Hotel Owner: “Location Based Experiences have been part of the licensing strategy at the Natural History Museum for a couple of years now, and we have already created successful collaborations in this space.

“The next natural step was to partner with a like-minded hotel to create an experience that started at check-in, not just inside the room itself, so that any every single guest has a truly immersive experience. Park Plaza understood the importance of authenticity and working collaboratively on this project to create a truly bespoke room, which is why the Dinosaur Family Suite has come together so well.”

The launch builds on Park Plaza London Riverbank’s existing family offering, which includes a range of suites and studios. The Dinosaur Family Suite is now available to book.

It is a long established fact that a reader will be distracted by the readable content of a page when looking at its layout. The point of using Lorem Ipsum is that it has a more-or-less normal distribution of letters, as opposed to using ‘Content here, content here’, making it look like readable English. Many desktop publishing packages and web page editors now use Lorem Ipsum as their default model text, and a search for ‘lorem ipsum’ will uncover many web sites still in their infancy.
