UP wins 7x WMA Web Awards in 2026

We’re proud to share that Up Hotel Agency has been recognised with seven awards in the 2026 Web Marketing Association Web Awards, including Best Hotel and Lodging Website for Arcus. Across these projects, distinctive design works hand in hand with intuitive UX and a smooth path towards booking.

Our hotel website design approach pairs responsive layouts for desktop, tablet and mobile with journeys shaped around how guests choose a stay. In addition, our website development prioritises fast loading through careful coding, image optimisation and caching.

Arcus

Our work for Arcus, Bloomsbury’s rooftop bar, earned Best Hotel and Lodging Website. Arched photography, cloud-inspired patterns and playful references to London’s weather bring the venue’s personality to life. The user journey is equally considered: day, night and cocktail menus are easy to find, with a prominent “Book a Table” call to action connecting browsing with reservations. Responsive typography and navigation adapt the design for smaller screens, while FAQs and a direct maps link help guests move from choosing a cocktail to planning their visit.

Bertrand’s Townhouse

For Bertrand’s Townhouse, we brought Bloomsbury’s literary character into the website’s design and language. From navigation presented as “Chapters” to paper and velvet textures, the story runs throughout the experience. Even the reservation form takes the shape of a letter to “Bertie”, with dates, guest numbers and rooms woven into its sentences. At the same time, familiar plus-and-minus controls and a clear availability button make this playful interaction practical. As a result, the hotel’s personality carries through to the moment a guest starts planning their stay.

Mayfield Hotels

Mayfield Hotels brings a collection of independent properties together under one brand. The website puts hotel discovery at the forefront, grouping location, dates, guests and special rates in a prominent search bar. Its responsive design gives search a dedicated layout on smaller screens, with vertically arranged fields and a “Search Hotels” entry point. Popular destinations and featured properties also offer a starting point for guests still deciding where to go. Meanwhile, dedicated content for essential workers and a separate partnership route keep the needs of travellers and hotel owners clearly organised.

My Ōtel

For My Ōtel, full-screen video, a restrained colour palette and spacious layouts introduce the group’s approach to boutique hospitality. Contrasting serif and italic typography gives the pages an elegant, editorial feel, while destination navigation and language options help an international audience find their way. The booking panel brings destination, dates and guest choices together, keeping the next step close to the experience that inspired it. Guests can also follow clear links to dining, events and offers. These connect the group’s visual storytelling with practical ways to plan a stay.

Haddington House

Haddington House’s coastal setting comes through in its harbour footage, soft peach tones and hand-drawn illustrations. The navigation follows the ways people use the House: staying, dining, attending events or exploring offers. For example, individual room pages help guests explore their accommodation choices, while restaurant sections have their own table-booking calls to action. This thoughtful information architecture gives overnight visitors and local diners clear routes through the same website. Neighbourhood stories, including sea swimming and cycling, add another reason to explore, connecting the hotel experience with life around Dún Laoghaire.

Fulham Pier Hotel

Our website for Fulham Pier Hotel places its Thames-side setting at the centre of the experience. Large room photographs showcase the river views, with a clear visual hierarchy leading visitors from the hotel introduction to rooms, direct-booking benefits and the wider pier’s dining and entertainment. A “Pick your room” link gives that browsing journey a natural next step, while the booking panel keeps dates and guest details together. Finally, gallery, directions and contact links help guests plan the finer details of their visit.

Whittlebury Park

Whittlebury Park brings stays, spa, golf, dining and events together within one website. With so many reasons to visit, the UX challenge is helping guests narrow their choices. We therefore organised the experiences around those different interests, supported by a package finder with filters for collection, price and what is included. Links from the homepage lead straight into relevant package collections, connecting inspiration with a more focused search. Estate photography sets the scene, while this structured approach to navigation helps visitors find the break that suits them.

It is a long established fact that a reader will be distracted by the readable content of a page when looking at its layout. The point of using Lorem Ipsum is that it has a more-or-less normal distribution of letters, as opposed to using ‘Content here, content here’, making it look like readable English. Many desktop publishing packages and web page editors now use Lorem Ipsum as their default model text, and a search for ‘lorem ipsum’ will uncover many web sites still in their infancy.
