Grosvenor House Suites in Mayfair has opened a cigar tasting lounge as it continues refurbishing 32 suites and introduces a new concierge arrival space.
Wimberly Interiors designed the second-floor lounge, which is open to hotel guests and non-residents. The new addition expands the property’s guest offering following the ongoing refurbishment of 32 suites and the introduction of a new concierge arrival space.
The property said the lounge reflects increased demand for private spaces for socialising and informal meetings.
The concept draws inspiration from top cigar spots across London, designed to complement the atmosphere of Grosvenor House Suites. An advanced ventilation system has also been integrated, developed in partnership with Swiss specialists.
Grosvenor House Suites said the interiors offer a contemporary interpretation of a traditional cigar lounge, with dark timber panelling and green, taupe and rust tones. The lounge also has a fireplace clad in Verde Alpi marble.
The venue includes a selection of premium cigars from Cuba, Nicaragua, Honduras and the Dominican Republic, while the drinks menu includes a range of wines, speciality teas, artisan coffee and whisky flights.
Rhys Hamilton has been appointed to lead the lounge. He has more than 15 years’ experience in the UK cigar industry, including roles at Alfred Dunhill, Sautter Cigars and Davidoff of London.
The launch includes collaborations with Swiss watchmaker Jacob and Co, Scottish whisky distillery The Glenturret in partnership with Lalique and British designer Alexandra Llewellyn. The hotel has also partnered with Kathryn Sargent to design uniforms for the lounge team.
