The Belfry Hotel and Resort has announced three charity partnerships for 2026, as part of its annual effort to raise funds for various causes.
The independent Sutton Coldfield resort hopes to surpass its 2025 achievement of £120,000 and raise even more for charities which “radiate compassion, kindness and community spirit”.
One such charity is St Giles Hospice, in Lichfield, which provides specialist palliative and end of life care and support, free of charge, to patients and families across Staffordshire, North Birmingham and the surrounding areas.
St Giles advocates for universal access to end of life care, and offers practical and emotional support and advice to ensure dignity and comfort for local people living with a terminal illness as well as their loved ones.
The Belfry will also partner with the Motor Neurone Disease (MND) Association for the third year in a row, a national charity working to help individuals and families affected by MND along with improving access to care and funding research.
It will additionally support Hospitality Action, which aims to provide relief for hospitality workers in crisis through financial assistance and mental health resources.
It said funds will be raised through events organised by departments across the resort, which last year included car washes, sponsored walks, golf challenges and marathons.
Elinor Eustace, chief executive officer at St Giles Hospice, said: “We’re absolutely delighted to be chosen as one of The Belfry’s charity partners for 2026. This partnership will make a real difference to our community. In 2024-25, we cared for over 2,600 people, with more than 80% of that care delivered in people’s own homes.
“With less than a quarter of our funding coming from the government, partnerships like this are vital to help us continue to be here for local people, and their loved ones, when they need us most. We’re incredibly grateful to everyone at The Belfry for their support and can’t wait to hear about all their exciting fundraising initiatives!”
Chris Eigelaar, managing Director at the Belfry Hotel and Resort, added: “We selected St Giles Hospice as our local charity partner because of the strong personal connection many of our team members have with the organisation and the invaluable support it has provided to their families.
“Charity is a powerful part of who we are at The Belfry, and I’m consistently inspired by the energy, creativity and generosity shown by our teams. Without them, it wouldn’t be possible to provide all our charity partners with much-needed support, and I can’t wait to see the imaginative initiatives they deliver this year to make 2026 our best fundraising year yet.”
