The project is part of a significant urban redevelopment initiative in the city. The hotel is expected to open in 2027 and will feature 235 guest rooms and suites.
The development agreement for Andaz Hiroshima was signed between a Hyatt affiliate and an affiliate of Takenaka Corporation. The hotel will include amenities such as restaurants, a rooftop bar and restaurant, a fitness center with an indoor pool, and banquet and event spaces.
Hiroshima is known for its historical significance and cultural sites, including the Atomic Bomb Dome and Peace Memorial Park, both UNESCO World Heritage Sites. The city is also a hub for creative industries, attracting designers, artists, and musicians. The Andaz Hiroshima aims to integrate local cultural elements into its design and services.
The city is accessible via Japan’s high-speed rail network, with direct Shinkansen services from Osaka and Tokyo, and is also served by Hiroshima Airport. This connectivity is expected to help the hotel attract international and domestic travelers.
The Andaz brand, part of Hyatt’s Lifestyle Group, emphasizes incorporating local culture and traditions into its properties. Andaz Hiroshima will be the second Andaz hotel in Japan, following Andaz Tokyo Toranomon Hills.
