St Michaels Resort in Falmouth has secured an £8m loan from Triodos Bank UK to support investment in sustainability measures, guest facilities and wider infrastructure.
The funding will also refinance existing debt at the hotel and spa, which overlooks Gyllyngvase Beach.
The resort, which holds a Gold Award from the Green Tourism Business Scheme, plans to use the financing to expand its environmental initiatives and enhance its wellness offering.
The hotel operates a range of schemes aimed at reducing its ecological impact, including energy-efficient systems, eco-focused upgrades across rooms and facilities, and e-bike hire for guests.
A dedicated team coordinates beach clean-ups, local conservation work and sustainability education for visitors.
Triodos Bank, which has financed sustainable tourism businesses for more than 20 years, lends only to organisations certified by Green Tourism or working towards accreditation.
