Valpas joins World Sustainable Hospitality Alliance

Valpas has joined the World Sustainable Hospitality Alliance in a move the group said will support efforts to advance safe and sustainable practices across the global hotel sector.

The Helsinki-based company certifies hotels as bed bug-safe and pesticide-free, using in-room technology that provides digital proof of safety for guests. It now has more than 300 certified hotels in over 70 destinations.

The alliance said growing awareness around bed bug risks and pesticide use had pushed the issue further up the sustainability agenda. It added that Valpas’ model – which guarantees a non-toxic stay – offers hotels a way to protect biodiversity and guest wellbeing.

Glenn Mandziuk, president and chief executive of the World Sustainable Hospitality Alliance, said: “We are delighted to welcome Valpas to the Alliance. Their innovative approach to creating safe, pesticide-free stays brings a powerful new dimension to hospitality sustainability.

“By tackling an often overlooked issue in guest wellbeing and environmental health, Valpas exemplifies how technology and purpose can combine to create lasting positive impact for both people and the planet.”

Martim Gois, co-founder and chief executive of Valpas, added: “We are delighted to join the Alliance. The hotel leaders in this community are already redefining what modern hospitality stands for by moving beyond outdated assumptions and taking action where others still hesitate.

The World Sustainable Hospitality Alliance brings together major hotel groups and partners to address environmental and social challenges. Its portfolio covers more than 66,000 hotels across 300 brands, including Hilton, Marriott and IHG, and it works with over 100 partners on programmes aimed at creating a net positive hospitality sector.

It is a long established fact that a reader will be distracted by the readable content of a page when looking at its layout. The point of using Lorem Ipsum is that it has a more-or-less normal distribution of letters, as opposed to using ‘Content here, content here’, making it look like readable English. Many desktop publishing packages and web page editors now use Lorem Ipsum as their default model text, and a search for ‘lorem ipsum’ will uncover many web sites still in their infancy.
