Splendid Hospitality Group appoints chief people officer

Splendid Hospitality Group (SHG) has promoted Emma Yearwood to chief people officer, a role that sees the former group people director join the company’s board of directors.

Yearwood joined the privately owned hospitality business in April 2025 and has 15 years of experience in human resources leadership roles.

In her new role, she is responsible for the people strategy across the group’s hotels, restaurants, care homes and head office, which employs 2,500 people.

News of Yearwood’s appointment comes as SHG plans to open an additional 500 rooms across its hotel portfolio over the next three to five years.

Further expansion is expected across its care homes, restaurants and mixed-use developments as planning consents are approved.

Nadeem Boghani, executive chairman of SHG, said: “We believe it is the talent, dedication and passion of our people that drives our success. Welcoming Emma to the board is a reinforcement of that belief and underlines the emphasis we place on growing the careers of our people.

“Emma’s people-first approach and experience navigating teams through rapid growth will be core to how we create opportunities, for our people and for the business as we expand our portfolio.”

Yearwood added: “People sit at the very heart of SHG’s business, whether that’s those driving the business forward from within, the guests we serve or the partners we work with. Our teams will continue to be poised to deliver on SHG’s goals and contribute to the business’s long-term success.”

It is a long established fact that a reader will be distracted by the readable content of a page when looking at its layout. The point of using Lorem Ipsum is that it has a more-or-less normal distribution of letters, as opposed to using ‘Content here, content here’, making it look like readable English. Many desktop publishing packages and web page editors now use Lorem Ipsum as their default model text, and a search for ‘lorem ipsum’ will uncover many web sites still in their infancy.
