Savvy Collective has appointed former Hilton executive Marcus Magee as operations director and former Edwardian Hotels executive Stephen Miles as development director.
The Chester-based hospitality group, founded by hotelier Steven Hesketh, supports owner-led hotels, leisure and lifestyle ventures across the North West. The business combines management, consultancy, education, events and investment across properties up to 100 rooms.
The appointments follow a brand relaunch aimed at expanding services for independent operators. UK hotel transaction volumes reached £1.6bn in the first quarter of 2026, up from the same period last year, with private investors driving the majority of sales.
Magee brings four decades of hospitality experience, including 30 years at Hilton Hotels, where he served as general manager of the Hilton Liverpool One and DoubleTree by Hilton Liverpool.
Miles brings 50 years of industry experience, including 30 years at Edwardian Hotels as general manager of The Edwardian Manchester, before launching an independent consultancy.
Magee said: “Having opened the Hilton Liverpool One in 2009, I was aware of Steven Hesketh as a hospitality leader and have followed his entrepreneurial journey over the last 17 years. “One of my key objectives will be driving the continued growth strategy of Savvy Collective, ensuring all our colleagues live and breathe the culture that empowers our team to give guests the best possible experience, alongside a key focus on driving our commercial strategy and maximising profit for Savvy Collective and our valued business partners.
“I have worked in the hospitality industry for over 40 years, including more than 30 years with Hilton Hotels in single unit and cluster management roles, and I have been part of the opening management teams for three hotel launches across the UK. One of my key objectives will be driving the continued growth strategy of SAVVY Collective, ensuring all our colleagues live and breathe the culture that empowers our team to give guests the best possible experience, alongside a key focus on driving our commercial strategy and maximising profit for SAVVY Collective and our valued business partners.”
