IHG Hotels and Resorts has signed an agreement with owner Chok Deesuk to convert a 158-room hotel in Krabi, Thailand.
The property will open under the Holiday Inn Express brand by the end of 2026 following a full rebranding process. The hotel is located in Ao Nang, 1km from the beach and approximately 40 minutes by car from Krabi International Airport.
This agreement marks the second collaboration between IHG and local owner Chok Deesuk, following the existing Holiday Inn Resort Krabi Ao Nang Beach. It also represents the first Holiday Inn Express property in Thailand to adopt the company’s fifth-generation design layout.
Hotel conversions represented nearly 40% of all keys signed by IHG in Thailand in 2025. The group currently operates 42 hotels across 11 brands in the country, with a further 39 properties in its development pipeline.
Facilities at the updated property will include an all-day dining restaurant, a swimming pool, a pool bar and a fitness centre.
Pathana Jitsaereetham, development director at IHG, said: “Building on our existing partnership, this latest agreement reflects the confidence owners continue to place in IHG’s brands, commercial expertise and ability to deliver long-term value.”
