Boutique hotel The Tempus, Northumberland, has appointed Richard Parker as its new general manager, succeeding Andrew Hogg, to oversee all aspects of the hotel’s operations.
Parker brings over three decades of leadership experience to the role, following a career of managing hotel and hospitality operations across the UK, spanning branded and independent properties.
In his new role, Parker will oversee guest experience, team development and commercial performance as well as all hotel operations, strengthening the hotel’s position in the boutique hospitality market.
Operated by The Doxford Group, The Tempus opened in 2023 and was recently recognised as VisitEngland’s Small Hotel of the Year 2026.
Commenting on his appointment, Parker said: “I am delighted to be joining The Tempus at such an exciting stage in its journey. The hotel has quickly established itself as one of the most innovative hospitality destinations in the country, combining exceptional service with a truly memorable guest experience.
