Wellbrook Hospitality appoints Alexander Kim as development partner

Wellbrook Hospitality has appointed Alexander Kim as development partner to lead the expansion of its hospitality portfolio and support growth across its existing and emerging brands.

Kim, who has 19 years of experience in UK commercial real estate, will oversee the acquisition of development and repositioning opportunities across the group’s portfolio. His remit will also include fundraising, construction and renovation projects, as well as asset management and white-label management contracts.

The appointment comes as Wellbrook expands its Leven hotel brand following the Manchester launch, while preparing to introduce a new hostel concept and other asset-specific brands later in 2026.

Kim will continue to advise private investors and family offices on their real estate portfolios alongside his role at Wellbrook. He previously served as director of workplace and the St James’s portfolio at The Crown Estate, where he led the product strategy, pre-leasing and design development of a 2.6 million sqft office portfolio.

Founded in 2020 by former senior leaders behind The Hoxton, Wellbrook Hospitality develops and operates hospitality brands, with its debut property, Leven Manchester, recently named among The Daily Telegraph’s Best 250 Hotels in the UK.

Shanthan Balakrishnan and Timothy Griffin, co-founders of Wellbrook Hospitality, said: “His extraordinary track record, particularly his tenure managing iconic London portfolios and delivering results in highly competitive markets, makes him the perfect leader to drive our growth.”

Kim added: “I’m thrilled to be partnering with Wellbrook at this exciting inflection point in the market. Operational real estate is attracting interest from new investors seeking creative alternative strategies and compelling returns. I look forward to leveraging my experience and relationships to combine exciting assets with strategic partners and bring Wellbrook’s exciting pipeline of brands to life.”

It is a long established fact that a reader will be distracted by the readable content of a page when looking at its layout. The point of using Lorem Ipsum is that it has a more-or-less normal distribution of letters, as opposed to using ‘Content here, content here’, making it look like readable English. Many desktop publishing packages and web page editors now use Lorem Ipsum as their default model text, and a search for ‘lorem ipsum’ will uncover many web sites still in their infancy.
