Country house hotel The Pig has acquired a Georgian building on The Pantiles in Tunbridge Wells as it plans to expand its hotel collection.
The Pig said it intends to respect the history of the Georgian building, as well as the existing business and its role within The Pantiles, as it develops its plans.
The hotel said the project would involve more than expanding the brand’s geographical footprint, with the brand intending to adapt its offering to the surroundings of the Pantiles.
The group has not yet announced when the new property is expected to open or provided details on the number of bedrooms or facilities at the site.
Kevin Styles, chief executive of The Pig, said: “Securing our new home in Tunbridge Wells is a very significant moment for The Pig – made all the more special as we celebrate our 15th anniversary and look ahead to the next chapter of the business.
“Tunbridge Wells gives us an opportunity to take everything people love about THE PIG – warmth, generosity, brilliant food, character and a true sense of place – and explore how it can live in a slightly different setting and at a different rhythm.”
He added: “There is plenty of work ahead and much more to share as our plans develop. For today, I simply want to thank everyone who has worked so hard behind the scenes to get us to this point – and all of you across the business who make growth like this possible.”
