The Mercure Aberdeen Caledonian Hotel, an 83-bedroom property located in the city centre on Union Terrace, has officially been sold to an anonymous operator for an undisclosed sum.
The hotel, which overlooks Union Terrace Gardens, was constructed from white Kemnay granite in a Renaissance style and features stained glass windows depicting local landmarks.
According to property firm Graham and Sibbald, who marketed the business, the hotel is regarded as one of the most historic properties in the city.
The transaction was handled by Katie Tait, associate, and James Williamson, of Graham and Sibbald, on behalf of the seller, Millemont.
Tait said: “I was delighted to have worked on the sale of the Mercure Aberdeen Caledonian Hotel, alongside my colleague James Williamson in our London office, acting on behalf of our client. It was a pleasure to bring our combined expertise and market knowledge to the transaction and achieve a successful outcome for our client.
“The transaction generated significant interest from the market, reflecting the quality and prominence of the asset.
