Fonab Castle has appointed Julie Williams Wilson as general manager, as the Pitlochry hotel expands its food and beverage operations.
Williams Wilson joins the Crerar Hotels property after six years with Hotel Co. 51, where she most recently served as Cluster general manager. She oversaw a portfolio of lifestyle hotels under the Marriott brand, alongside several destination bar and restaurant concepts.
Her previous responsibilities covered hotel operations, commercial performance, sales and marketing, finance, HR, recruitment, training and development and guest services. Williams Wilson has held senior management positions across the hotel and hospitality sector since 2003. Her career has also included hotel openings and refurbishment projects across the UK and Europe.
While at Hotel Co. 51, she was involved in the opening of Moxy Edinburgh Fountainbridge and AC Inverness, overseeing the projects from launch through to working with the hotel teams. In her new role at Fonab Castle in Pitlochry, Williams Wilson will focus on hotel operations, supporting the existing team and maintaining service standards across the property.
The appointment comes as Fonab Castle continues to develop its food and beverage offering. The hotel recently relaunched its 1892 Grill in partnership with John Gilmour Butchers and Executive Head Chef Paul Tyrrell. It has also opened Sandeman’s Bar within the castle.
Williams Wilson said: “I believe one of the best parts about working in the hospitality industry is the memorable experiences we are able to create for our guests. I’m most looking forward to working with the team to build on the strengths of the hotel, and ensure that every guest receives the warm welcome, attention to detail and high level of service they should expect from Crerar Hotels.”
