Castle Hotel Windsor is set to reopen this summer following a £9.5m refurbishment of its 108 bedrooms and communal areas.
The project, overseen by interior design firm 3DReid, will update the building with features inspired by its Georgian heritage.
The relaunch follows a separate £14m renovation of the Francis Hotel in Bath by the parent company, Sutton Hotel Collection.
The Windsor property traces its history back to 1528 when it first opened as a Tudor alehouse called The Mermaid Inn.
The upcoming changes will include six updated premium rooms in The Mews, which sits on the site of the former stables.
A new restaurant and bar called Penningtons will also open inside the hotel. The independent hospitality consultancy Auden Hospitality helped develop the concept, which focuses on classic British pies and seasonal dishes.
The accompanying bar will replicate a traditional British tap room, featuring zinc counters and tiled flooring.
Author and flavourist Zoe Burgess has designed the cocktail menu, which will sit alongside regional craft beers. The hotel lounge will also be altered to allow for all-day dining and remote working.
Additionally, the outside of the property will be landscaped to improve the entrance for visitors.
