Generator Hostels has announced the appointment of Xavier Mufraggi as its new chief executive, as it targets doubling its hotel footprint by 2030.
The London-based company plans to accelerate international growth with three new openings and renovations across London, Paris, Dublin and Hamburg throughout 2026 and 2027.
Expansion will focus on acquiring centrally located four-star hotels, including Novotel London Greenwich, alongside converting offices, warehouses and government buildings into design-led accommodation spaces.
Mufraggi brings more than two decades of international leadership experience to the role, having previously served as chief executive of YPO and Club Med North America.
The appointment follows the acquisition of Generator by investment firm Brookfield in 2025, intended to support expansion across Europe and new markets.
Mufraggi said: “Generator has always stood for something much bigger than affordable accommodation. Its mission to keep city travel affordable while creating places that reflect the culture and character of each destination is what drew me to the business.
“We also want to become the leading hospitality company focused on accelerated career opportunities for young diverse talent, those with a strong work ethic and a passion for people.”
Lauren Okada Young, managing director of Brookfield, added: “Xavier is a proven international leader with an exceptional track record of growing hospitality businesses, while staying true to what makes them distinctive.
