Hospitality Social Media Summit launches at Chicago Booth London

The Hospitality Social Media Summit will launch at Chicago Booth School of Business, London, bringing together senior hospitality social leaders for two days of executive education followed by six months of structured digital development.

The programme has been created to close a widening capability gap. Social media now influences demand, booking decisions and reputation across hospitality, yet the discipline has outgrown the way many businesses manage it. Until now, leaders have had few dedicated opportunities to build the expertise the channel requires.

It is the first executive programme dedicated to hospitality social media at this level: a working format rather than a conventional conference.

“The strongest hospitality social strategies do more than create engagement. They contribute to brand positioning, demand, direct bookings, and guest loyalty. Throughout my career, I have seen the difference that a clear, intentional strategy can make.

“This Summit was created to help teams make that shift, with practical frameworks, actionable tools and a more commercial lens on their work, so they leave equipped to demonstrate measurable impact within their businesses,” said Whitney Reynolds, former Global Director of Social Marketing at IHG and Kimpton, who headlines and co-produces the Summit.

Why it matters to management

Social media is no longer a task to delegate and leave. It now touches the areas on which hospitality leaders are measured:

  • Revenue management and direct bookings
  • Sales, including group, corporate and event business
  • Guest loyalty, retention and opportunities to capture consented first-party data
  • Reputation and service recovery

Its return depends on leadership decisions about the objectives it serves, the investment behind it, the standards it is held to and how its performance is measured. The programme is built for those leaders and their execution teams.

What it covers

Day one is a strategic masterclass that guides delegates through the development of a complete social strategy, from business goals and audience to content, brand voice, tactics and measurement.

Day two moves into practical labs covering the disciplines that increasingly shape commercial performance:

  • Paid social designed to support direct bookings
  • Creator partnerships, UGC and usage rights
  • AI-supported content and workflows
  • International demand and localisation
  • Legal compliance and operational risk
  • Video strategy and conversion
  • Social care, personalisation and reputation

Delegates apply the learning to their own properties and business scenarios throughout, leaving with practical frameworks, plans and assets they can use immediately.

Who leads it

The faculty represents the top tier of hospitality social internationally, bringing together former senior social leaders from IHG, Kimpton, Hyatt and Meliá.

Reynolds led global social strategy across IHG and helped build Kimpton’s highly regarded social presence. She is joined by Laura Ferrari, former Director of Social Media EAME at Hyatt, and Santiago García Solimei, former Global Director of Social Media and Brands PR at Meliá, alongside award-winning practitioners in paid media, AI, creator strategy, compliance and reputation.

It is a long established fact that a reader will be distracted by the readable content of a page when looking at its layout. The point of using Lorem Ipsum is that it has a more-or-less normal distribution of letters, as opposed to using ‘Content here, content here’, making it look like readable English. Many desktop publishing packages and web page editors now use Lorem Ipsum as their default model text, and a search for ‘lorem ipsum’ will uncover many web sites still in their infancy.
