The five-star Hotel van Oranje on Koningin Wilhelminaboulevard in Noordwijk aan Zee, in the Netherlands, will be undergoing a large-scale renovation and extension alongside the construction of new luxury apartments, named the Residences van Oranje project.
The redevelopment includes the addition of two floors and the installation of a new façade, roof, and dome. A skybridge will connect the hotel to two luxury apartment complexes currently under construction.
The 23,000 square metre hotel will feature 244 rooms and suites once completed. Facilities include a 2,000 square metre wellness centre, a ballroom, and several meeting rooms for conferences and events.
The building design is inspired by 19th Century architecture from French seaside resorts, and features bay windows and a fine dining restaurant situated within a glass dome.
The hotel will offer three restaurants and a bar with a seaside terrace. On-site services for residents and guests will include 24-hour security, housekeeping, and room service.
The project is being delivered by the HVO Hotel consortium, a partnership between Van Deursen Group, Dreef Beheer, and Ramphastos Investments. Vertiq Hospitality Partners will manage the hotel operations.
Construction of the new façade and additional floors is scheduled to begin in the second quarter of 2026, with the full opening of the hotel expected in autumn 2028.
Arno Schneider, representing the HVO Hotel consortium, said: “For decades, Hotel van Oranje has been a beloved icon in a prime location on the Dutch coast. Our ambition is to preserve that rich history whilst creating a contemporary, luxurious destination for both hotel guests and residents of Residences van Oranje.
“For hotel management, we are collaborating with Vertiq Hospitality Partners, a leading European company in the field of hospitality investment and management. With their expertise, we are fully confident that the hotel will become a leading destination.”
Erik Jacobs, chief executive of Vertiq Hospitality Partners, added: “We are delighted to be involved in the transformation of Hotel van Oranje, an icon on the Dutch coast. This redevelopment combines historic charm with modern luxury, wellness and high-quality meeting facilities. We look forward to creating an exceptional destination for both leisure and business guests, setting a new standard for luxury coastal resorts in the Netherlands.”
