IHG Hotels & Resorts has entered into a management agreement with Al Ashraaf Developments to establish a new Holiday Inn in Al Obour City, Cairo. The planned hotel will feature 170 guest rooms, including 11 suites, and is strategically located along the Cairo-Ismailia Desert Road. This location provides connectivity to major transportation networks and is conveniently close to Cairo International Airport, making it easily accessible for both business and leisure travelers.
The development is part of a broader strategy to enhance Cairo’s position as a significant gateway for tourism and business in North Africa. The hotel will incorporate Holiday Inn’s Open Lobby concept, designed to provide a multifunctional space for guests to work, dine, or relax. The property will also include four food and beverage outlets, five meeting spaces, and retail outlets.
IHG currently operates eight hotels across four brands in Egypt, including InterContinental, Crowne Plaza, Holiday Inn, and Staybridge Suites. The company has plans to expand further in the country, with a pipeline of 22 hotels expected to open over the next two to five years.
