Lake District Country Hotels has won two national accolades at the HR in Hospitality Annual Awards for Excellence in HR.
The company, which operates Briery Wood, Cragwood and Merewood Country House Hotels, won the Excellence in Promoting Early Careers category at the London event on 12 September. It also received a highly commended award for Excellence in Learning and Development.
The awards recognise teams and organisations making significant contributions to human resources and staff development across the hospitality sector.
The business runs a range of initiatives through its Training Academy, Chef Academy and Trainee Management Programme. It also offers apprenticeships, industry placements and runs partnerships with local schools, colleges and universities to build career pathways.
Helen Ansell, group HR manager, led the development strategy and early career schemes across the business.
Joe Cobb, group executive manager of Lake District Country Hotels, said: “We are deeply honoured to win such a prestigious award. At Lake District Country Hotels, it’s our people who make us who we are and that is why we have created exciting initiatives that will help them to learn and grow.
