Ragdale Hall Spa appoints new managing director

Ragdale Hall Spa has appointed Helen Bull as managing director following the retirement of its long-standing senior leadership team.

The appointment comes as directors Hugh Wilson and Allison Garner step down after more than 35 years of service at the business.

Bull joins the company with 30 years of commercial experience in the hospitality, leisure, and tourism industries.

She previously held senior leadership roles at Merlin Entertainments, where she managed long-term resort strategy and day-to-day operations.

In her new position, Bull will manage a team of 525 employees at the 93-bedroom property.

The Leicestershire-based destination spa has operated for 50 years. Bull will oversee future growth strategies for the business, building on the commercial foundations established by her predecessors.

Wilson said: “I’m proud to be handing over the reins to Helen, Ragdale Hall Spa is an incredible brand and business with a strong team and foundation, foundations that Allison and I have been part of building and shaping. We will be stepping away confidently that Ragdale is in safe hands and that it will become even more remarkable.”

Bull added: “I am extremely excited to be leading the team here at Ragdale, a team with a great reputation for delivering exceptional guest experiences that we pride ourselves on.

“It is a privilege to join a brand that is so highly regarded and continue the success that Hugh and Allison have had a huge part in creating. I look forward to using my experience and expertise to lead Ragdale Hall Spa into its next era.”

New leadership appointments at wellness hotels

The recent appointment of a new managing director at Ragdale Hall Spa mirrors a wider industry trend, as seen at Rockliffe Hall where Jason Adams took the helm as managing director in January 2020. Adams emphasised his commitment to driving innovation and growth, a sentiment that aligns with Ragdale Hall’s vision for its operational enhancements under new leadership at Rockliffe Hall.

Moreover, Davidson Hospitality Group’s recent acquisition and management of Ragdale Hall Spa intends to elevate its status in the wellness sector, much like how Lyndsay Stanistreet-Tyer was appointed managing director at Suites Hotel and Spa following its significant refurbishment. Stanistreet-Tyer aims to reposition the hotel as a leading venue in Liverpool, paralleling the ambitions set forth by the leadership changes at Ragdale Hall at Suites Hotel and Spa.

The point of using Lorem Ipsum is that it has a more-or-less normal distribution of letters, as opposed to using ‘Content here, content here’, making it look like readable English. Many desktop publishing packages and web page editors now use Lorem Ipsum as their default model text, and a search for ‘lorem ipsum’ will uncover many web sites still in their infancy.
