Savvy Collective properties Hotel Wrexham and the Savvy Fox pub have earned four-star accreditations from Visit Wales.
The rating follows a multi-million-pound private investment in operational standards, facilities and service.
Savvy Collective has reported strong growth since its acquisition of Hotel Wrexham in May 2024. Headcount has grown from 13 to approximately 40 staff members, while hotel occupancy has risen from 53.2% in 2022 to a forecast 78% in 2026. Total revenue has also doubled from under £1m in 2022 to a forecast £2m in 2026.
The group acquired the hotel for £1.6m and invested a further £1m in site upgrades. Hotel Wrexham, formerly Holt Lodge Hotel, has since expanded operations to include summer music festivals alongside its food, corporate events and wedding services.
Savvy Collective has also backed further developments in the region, including the opening of Queen’s Square Social in the former library building on Queen Street, alongside an ongoing refurbishment of The Old Registry on Chester Street.
Peter Schriewersmann, commercial director of Hotel Wrexham and The Savvy Fox, said: “This is one of those real milestone moments. Ever since we came to Wrexham and acquired the old Holt Lodge Hotel in 2024, we have tried to make things better and, importantly, play our part in the community.”
Steven Hesketh, founder of Savvy Collective, added: “The four-star accreditation is particularly important because it is independent recognition of the progress the team has made. When we acquired Holt Lodge, we saw an opportunity to invest in the property, create something that would be commercially successful, but also become a genuine part of the Wrexham community.”
