The Cumberland Hotel in Marble Arch has appointed four new managers across its food and beverage, operations and commercial teams.
The appointments include Cristian Miu as bar manager, Thomas Chakalamattathu as restaurant manager of Lírica, Ancuta Ababei as director of rooms and Balin Sondh as sales manager for Lírica and Gordon Ramsay Hell’s Kitchen.
Miu, who previously worked as assistant bar manager at The Chancery Rosewood, will oversee bar operations at the hotel. His previous experience includes roles at The Peninsula London and The May Fair Hotel.
Chakalamattathu joins the team following an internal transfer from The Royal Horseguards Hotel, where he spent more than two years as restaurant manager. He will oversee day-to-day operations at Lírica and manage the hotel room service.
Ababei has been appointed director of rooms to manage front office, housekeeping, security and guest services. She most recently worked as deputy general manager at Maldron Hotel Shoreditch.
Finally, Sondh will lead the commercial strategy, events and corporate bookings for both venues. He previously worked as multi-site sales and events manager at Criterion Hospitality.
