Rachael Henley, general manager of The Fife Arms, is to leave the property in October after nearly six years with the business.
Henley joined the hotel in 2020 as hotel manager before progressing to general manager in 2022. Prior to this, she held several senior leadership roles including food and beverage manager at properties such as Grantley Hall and The Idle Rocks in Cornwall.
Her departure comes as she takes a career break; The Fife Arms has not yet announced her successor.
Announcing her departure on LinkedIn, Henley said: “At the end of October, I’ll be stepping away from my role at The Fife Arms after nearly six years. It’s been an incredible chapter, filled with experiences, challenges and achievements that I’ll carry with me into whatever comes next. I’m hugely grateful to the people I’ve worked alongside and everything the last six years have taught me.
“Now, I’m choosing to step away from the familiar and take a career break – to pause, reset and pursue something that feels more meaningful. My next chapter takes me back to Africa, to Zambia, where I’ll be volunteering with an amazing NGO, embracing a completely different environment and exploring where my experience, skills and passion can take me next.”
The Fife Arms reopened in 2018 as a 46-bedroom hotel under current operator Artfarm, following a multi-million-pound transformation, aimed at restoring the historic building while creating a new luxury hotel centred around Scottish culture, art and the local community. The addition of a spa in 2019 completed the site’s redevelopment.
