Hotel operator Dalata Hotels has appointed Aline Caliari as general manager of its Clayton Hotel St Andrew Square, which is due to open next year following a £50m renovation project.
Announcing her position on Linkedin, Caliari said: “I am incredibly proud to share that, later this year, I will be taking the role of General Manager at Clayton Hotel St Andrew Square.
“Thank you to everyone who has been part of my journey over the last 11 years. Thank you for every opportunity, every challenge and every lesson along the way. I am looking forward to working alongside what I am sure will be an incredible team as we bring the first Clayton to Edinburgh ahead of opening early next year.”
The site, located in Edinburgh’s St Andrew Square, was acquired in September 2023 for £12.5m. The project, which is still underway, is expected to be completed later this year.
Following approval of a revised planning application, the Clayton Hotel will include 172 guestrooms, a bar, restaurant, gym and two large meeting rooms on the first floor overlooking St Andrew Square.
Dalata Hotel Group is now owned by Scandinavian consortium Pandox and the Norwegian property company Eiendomsspar, following its acquisition last year for €1.4bn (£1.2bn).
