Calcot Manor and Spa in the Cotswolds has completed a new luxury woodland development, The Treehouses.
Specialist design and construction firm Blue Forest built the cabins to expand the capacity of the Tetbury resort. The structures use sustainable materials, including reclaimed timber cladding from old barn sidings, certified sustainable wood and low-impact screw pile foundations to protect the surrounding woodland root systems.
Each elevated unit features a master bedroom, a loft-style twin room and a living area that opens onto a private balcony. The outdoor decks are fitted with individual private saunas as part of the health and wellness infrastructure of the hotel.
Cathy Birtles, interior designer, managed the internal decoration of the cabins, incorporating soft natural textures, local artwork and bespoke tiling. The units also include air-source heat pumps to manage heating and hot water requirements sustainably.
Guests staying in the woodland development have access to the main resort facilities, which include complimentary bicycle hire, an indoor spa and fitness amenities. Dining options for the new rooms include a dedicated sharing-menu room service alongside the main hotel brasserie.
The property operates as the flagship location for hospitality firm the Calcot Collection. The regional boutique hotel portfolio also includes sister countryside venues The Painswick in Gloucestershire and the Lord Crewe Arms in Northumberland.
