Corinthia Hotels appoints president of operations

Corinthia Hotels has announced the appointment of Peter Roth as president of hotel operations to oversee its portfolio and upcoming global openings.

The luxury hotel brand, which is owned by International Hotel Investments, confirmed the newly created role will be based at its London headquarters. Roth will report directly to chief executive Simon Naudi.

In his new role, Roth’s responsibilities will include managing current hotel performance and leading operational readiness for upcoming sites in Italy, Doha, Riyadh, Dubai, the Maldives and Chengdu.

Roth joins the company with more than three decades of international luxury hospitality experience across Europe, the Americas and the Middle East.

He previously worked as regional vice president for Jumeirah, where he managed luxury resort destinations in the Middle East. Prior to that, Roth spent 15 years with Hyatt Hotels and Resorts, finishing his tenure as area vice president for multi-brand assets across four American states.

His early career included operational leadership roles with Four Seasons Hotels and Resorts across Europe and the Americas.

Naudi said: “Peter brings a wealth of operational expertise that will directly strengthen our day-to-day hotel performance. We are delighted to welcome such an experienced hotelier into the Corinthia family.”

Roth added: “Corinthia has built an exceptional reputation, and joining the group at such an exciting stage of its international growth is both a privilege and a tremendous opportunity.

“I look forward to working alongside our hotel teams to strengthen operational excellence, empower our people and continue creating memorable experiences for our guests around the world.”

News Analysis

Corinthia Hotels’ recent appointment of Peter Roth as president of hotel operations aligns with previous leadership changes designed to bolster the group’s global expansion strategy. In November 2019, the company welcomed Christian Renz as chief commercial officer, a move framed as essential for strengthening their corporate structure amidst ambitious growth plans that included new destinations such as Dubai and Bucharest. Both appointments signify a concerted effort to enhance operational and commercial capabilities as the brand seeks to establish a stronger foothold in competitive markets, illustrating Corinthia’s commitment to strategic leadership at crucial growth phases. Christian Renz’s appointment signals expansion.

With Roth’s extensive luxury hospitality experience, his role is reminiscent of how Charlotte Weatherall was appointed general manager of Corinthia London in June 2025, signalling the hotel’s focus on strong leadership during its growth trajectory. Weatherall’s tenure as director of sales and marketing had already produced notable financial results, highlighting Corinthia’s strategy of promoting from within to maintain continuity and operational excellence. This approach underlines how experienced leaders are pivotal for Corinthia as they continue to navigate an evolving luxury landscape. Charlotte Weatherall’s promotion continued the success.

These leadership updates are particularly relevant given the ambitious plans Corinthia has laid out for expansion across numerous high-profile locations including Doha and Dubai. The group’s ongoing evolution, as evidenced by Roth’s appointment alongside other key hires, emphasises the brand’s intent to reinforce operational readiness and enhance guest experiences as they prepare to launch new properties. This strategy is not only about filling roles but is integral to sustaining the momentum necessary for future success in a highly competitive environment. Roth’s leadership aims at operational excellence.
