Indian Hotels Company Limited (IHCL) has announced the promotion of Spiridon Sarantopoulos to senior vice president of operations for Europe and the US to support its international expansion.
The promotion follows Sarantopoulos’ tenure running the Pierre, a Taj Hotel in New York, where he will continue to oversee daily operations.
His expanded role includes oversight of the St James’ Court and Taj 51 Buckingham Gate hotels in London, as well as Taj Campton Place in San Francisco.
Sarantopoulos will also manage the newly opened Taj Hessischer Hof in Frankfurt, which launched on 1 June 2026 as the brand’s first German property.
Before joining Indian Hotels Company, Sarantopoulos held general manager and vice president roles at hotel groups Accor and Steigenberger Hotels and Resorts.
IHCL has a portfolio of luxury properties across key global destinations, focusing on expanding its brand presence in major European and American cities.
Sarantopoulos said: “It is an incredible honour to take on this expanded responsibility at such an exciting time for IHCL. Our collection of landmark hotels represents some of the world’s most celebrated destinations, each with its own unique heritage and identity.
