The Crown Hotel in Bawtry has been brought to market with an asking price of offers over £7m following the decision of its owner and long-serving manager to retire.
The 76-bedroom hotel and venue in South Yorkshire is being marketed as a freehold property. The site includes a bar, restaurant, outdoor seating area, function facilities and two adjoining retail units that provide additional rental income.
It comes as the hotel’s general manager, Craig Dowie, is stepping down after 25 years running the business.
He said: “After 25 years, I am making my retirement plans, and it comes at a time when Doncaster is about to experience a massive economic boost with several large-scale openings in Doncaster including Doncaster airport.”
Matt Hill, senior business agent at Christie and Co, who is handling the sale, added: “The Crown Hotel at Bawtry is a successful all-round hospitality business. The word opportunity is often used when marketing business listings but, in this case, it is one that has a potential seven-figure value in the coming years.
“A recent commissioned report shows that the opening of the airport and other factors will likely have a significant impact on the venue’s room sales and F&B. This report and the accounts are available on request to registered seriously interested parties.”
