The Jack O’Newbury to open in Berkshire village on 2 September

Chef Dom Chapman and restaurateur Nigel Sutcliffe have announced that The Jack O’Newbury, a new pub, restaurant and hotel concept, will open in Binfield, Berkshire on 2 September.

Located a few miles from Windsor, the former village inn has undergone two years of renovations. The site includes an 80-cover dining room and terrace, 11 bedrooms and a kitchen garden set within two acres of grounds.

Chapman and Sutcliffe previously worked together at The Fat Duck Group. Chapman was head chef at The Hinds Head and later at The Royal Oak Paley Street, where he earned a Michelin star.

Meanwhile, Sutcliffe served as director at The Fat Duck and co-founded venues including The Crazy Bear in Stadhampton and The Oarsman in Marlow. Sutcliffe will oversee day-to-day operations at The Jack O’Newbury.

The building retains its historical name, inspired by 16th-century textile merchant John Winchcombe, also known as Jack O’Newbury. The property features a wildflower meadow and a purpose-built kitchen garden supplying ingredients for the restaurant.

The restaurant will open seven days a week for breakfast, lunch and dinner. The menu features regional Berkshire ingredients alongside British dishes, including Wild Venison Faggots, Roast Cornish Seabass and Sunday roasts.

The venue also features an informal bar, a 20-cover terrace with a wood-burning oven and a pavilion for private events.

Design studio Alfred House created the 11 bedrooms, which are located across the main house, converted stables and a Grade II-listed barn.

Sutcliffe said: “Dom and I are excited to be bringing this beautiful property back to life. It’s a rare opportunity to restore this characterful village inn and create somewhere that truly feels special, which will focus on genuine hospitality. Our aim is simple; to offer wonderful food, warm service and a place people will want to return to time and time again.”

It is a long established fact that a reader will be distracted by the readable content of a page when looking at its layout. The point of using Lorem Ipsum is that it has a more-or-less normal distribution of letters, as opposed to using ‘Content here, content here’, making it look like readable English. Many desktop publishing packages and web page editors now use Lorem Ipsum as their default model text, and a search for ‘lorem ipsum’ will uncover many web sites still in their infancy.
