The Pig at Harlyn Bay has appointed Dan Thompson as hotel director, succeeding Lukas André, who has led the property for more than six years.
Thompson joins the hotel from the luxury Devon four-star Thurlstone Hotel, where he served as general manager from 2024, after almost a decade working for Mullion Cove Hotel in Cornwall where he finished as general manager.
Announcing his appointment on LinkedIn, Thompson said: “I’m delighted to share that this September I’ll be starting a new chapter as hotel director at The Pig at Harlyn Bay.
“After more than a decade with Thurlestone Hotel it’s difficult to put into words just how much the people, experiences and opportunities there have meant to me. I’ve had the privilege of working alongside some incredible colleagues, learning a huge amount and creating many memories along the way. I’m incredibly grateful to everyone who has been part of that journey and helped shape me both personally and professionally.
“Now, I’m really excited for what lies ahead. THE PIG has a fantastic reputation for its approach to hospitality, food and creating memorable guest experiences and I’m looking forward to joining the team at Harlyn Bay and taking on this next challenge.”
The Pig at Harlyn Bay marked the seventh location in The Pig portfolio when it opened in 2020. The 30 guestroom property, located a short walk from Harlyn Bay beach and close to Padstow, dates back to the 16th Century, sitting within almost five acres of garden.
