Troo Hospitality has appointed Ruth Duckworth as general manager of The Reserve at Chester Zoo, strengthening the leadership team as the luxury lodge retreat continues its development.
Duckworth joins the business with more than 15 years’ experience across the hotel, leisure, golf, spa and food and beverage sectors. Most recently, she served as regional manager at Macdonald Hotels and Resorts. Prior to that, Duckworth spent more than 15 years with Whitbread, where she progressed through a number of operational leadership roles, including regional operations manager overseeing a portfolio of 42 hotels.
During her tenure, she also managed the launch of the first hub by Premier Inn in Covent Garden and led several large city-centre hotels in Manchester and London. Earlier in her career, she held management positions at JW Lees and Village Hotels, including supporting the opening of a flagship Village Hotels property.
According to Troo Hospitality, Duckworth’s appointment forms part of the group’s continued focus on developing The Reserve, with her commercial experience and operational background expected to support the property’s next phase of growth.
