Hilton posts $482m Q2 net profit as RevPAR rises 3.9%

Hilton has reported second-quarter net income of $482m (£363m) as system-wide comparable RevPAR increased 3.9%. The hotel group also posted adjusted EBITDA of $1.05bn (£790m) as it continued to expand its global pipeline.

Adjusted diluted earnings per share rose 4% year-on-year to $2.29 (£1.70), while reported diluted earnings per share stood at $2.10 (£1.56).

During the quarter, Hilton opened more than 200 hotels comprising over 24,100 rooms and approved a further 42,900 rooms for development, representing the second-largest quarterly approvals in the company’s history. Its development pipeline subsequently grew to 541,300 rooms, up 6% year-on-year, while net unit growth reached 6.1%.

The company also launched Graduate by Hilton, an upper-midscale lifestyle brand aimed at the college and university market, which it said has long-term growth potential of more than 400 hotels.

Alongside its operational performance, Hilton repurchased 2.9 million shares during the second quarter, bringing total capital returned to shareholders, including dividends, to $966m (£717.3m) for the quarter and $2.03bn (£1.51bn) year to date through July.

Looking ahead, Hilton expects full-year system-wide comparable RevPAR to increase between 3% and 3.5%, while forecasting net income of between $1.88bn (£1.40bn) and $1.91bn (£1.42bn) and adjusted EBITDA of $4.04bn (£3bn) to $4.08bn (£3.03bn). The group also expects to return approximately $3.5bn (£2.6bn) of capital to shareholders during 2026.
